Is there a reason to LOVE the Powell County Public Library?
We sure hope so! We know that we sure love seeing patrons come in and make use of the many resources that we have to offer. Whether it’s to check out a book to cuddle up with on a cold wintry day like we’ve been experiencing or find a book on planting a garden in anticipation of an early spring, get a DVD of a favorite movie to have a little family night event, check-out a backpack to have a fun book and activity time with your child, make copies, use a computer, get an application for a new social security card, or to attend one of the many programs that we offer which are all of no cost to attendees, just to name a few, there’s something for everyone!
Every week we offer 2 story time sessions. The first one is at 10:00 for 0-3 year olds. The second one is at 11:30 for the 4-5 year olds. We are ready to trade our snow boots in for some flip flops and some fun spring stories.
LEGO Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 4:00. We have a fun time turning those little plastic blocks into some cool creations.
Adults who like to make things should plan to attend our crafting sessions on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 4:00. You’ll always leave with a creation that is unique and all your own.
We will be having a very special event in May. We will be providing more details about it very soon, so stay tuned for it to be announced.
We are already planning our summer reading program for this year. It looks to be a well-loved theme with the element of dinosaurs thrown in.
Our winter hours are as follows: Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00, Saturday, 11:00-2:00, and closed on Sunday.
If you would like more details about the programs offered at the Powell County Public Library, check out our website at www.pcplky.org. You can also follow us on the Powell County Public Library Facebook Page or stop by the library and get a hard copy of the monthly calendar.
And remember, you are always welcome at the Powell County Public Library where we’re never overbooked!
