A quote came to me that made me think about this topic: “Life is not about making others happy. Life is about sharing your happiness with others !”
When you think about it, there is a lot of truth in that quote. I have found in my walk with the Lord that you cannot make anyone happy if they don’t choose to be. So, we have to live our lives so that others might want to be like us and ask, “what makes you happy?” There is an old saying that has been around for a long time: ” Smile and the whole world smiles with you.”
Think about that for a few minutes and think about where you work or go to church (yes, sad to say, there are some people in church that go around like they had tried to eat a green persimmon), and think about which person made your day a little brighter. The one with the smile or the one that had a sad or a mad expression? Of course, the one with the smile made you feel better.

I recently read this and it got my attention and just maybe we all ought to read it occasionally to remind us how precious life is: “Someone is taking their last breath in a hospital bed today, and you’re frustrated sitting in traffic! Someone is spending their first night alone after years of love, and you’re annoyed your partner left dishes in the sink! Someone is burying their baby they carried for nine months, and you’re upset because your child spilled milk on the couch! Someone is burying their mom who created them, and you’re annoyed because your mom called you twice this morning! Someone is wishing for just one more conversation with their dad, and you’re rolling your eyes at his advice! Prospective is everything. Appreciate the little things because one day they’ll be the big things!”
While I was writing this column, I got another quote from a good friend I met through music: “Be good to people. You will be remembered more for your kindness than any level of success you could possibly attain.”
The question, “What Is Life All About?”, can be summoned up with this, “One of the greatest victories you can gain over someone is to beat him at politeness!”
And now advice for the elderly: “Life begins at forty. But so do fallen arches, rheumatism, faulty eyesight, and a routine of pills vast enough to open your own pharmacy!” Enlarged for all my elderly friends ! LOL
And that’s a few things about “What Life is all about”. No doubt that preparing for eternity is the most important thing that we can accomplish during our lifetime. Jesus said in “John 14:6 I am the way and the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” I hope you are prepared to meet Jesus. if you would like to get in touch with me ,text 606-481-0444.
