On April 24, participants from Foothills Active Day Center attended Jesus Prom at Southland Christian Church. It was an evening dedicated to celebrating individuals with special needs through music, dancing, fellowship, and joy.
This experience echoes the teaching of Jesus in Luke 14:12-14 (ESV): “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
The evening served as a powerful reminder of the importance of creating spaces where everyone is welcomed not for what they can give in return, but simply for who they are. Foothills is grateful for community partners who help make these moments possible and for opportunities that affirm dignity, joy, and connection for all participants.
