Clifford the Big Red Dog delighted a crowd of over 100 during a special appearance at the Powell County Public Library on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The beloved literary icon dropped by to celebrate the library’s weekly Story Time Hour, bringing books to life for local youth. Attendees treated themselves to themed Clifford cookies while sharing stories and taking photos with the giant canine visitor.
Weekly Story Time Schedule
The library hosts its free Story Time Hour every Wednesday with tailored sessions for different age groups:
- 10:00 AM: Designed for toddlers and infants ages 0 to 3.
- 11:30 AM: Designed for preschoolers ages 4 to 5.
All library programming is entirely free of charge, and all families are welcome to attend without prior registration. Staff noted that the weekly sessions offer a wonderful opportunity for early childhood development, helping young community members meet new friends and learn while having fun.
