Knock, knock! Who’s there? Icy! Icy who? Hopefully Icy you in January at the Powell County Public Library!
We have entered the winter season and it’s hard to believe that Christmas is just a few
days away! Whew, I thought it would never come! Then, comes the putting away of the
decorations, Christmas clothes, and return to normal music on the radio. Short lived, but I
love the whole season.
Winter puts us in the hot cocoa, movie watching, couch sitting mode! Make a point to
rise from the sofa for a bit and visit the library. Lots of things await you here from the
latest book releases to classic movies on DVD, and a game center to get your play on.
Our story time sessions of 10:00 (0-3 year olds) and 11:30 (4-5 year olds) every Wednesday will
be snow and winter themed with a little Pete the Cat thrown in the mix. Plan to keep
the cabin fever to a minimum and join us for lots of fun learning for the littles.
LEGO Club will meet on Thursday, January the 22nd at 4:00.
Invite your friends to come along for some fun building with us.
Adult crafts for this month will include making a pine cone wreath. The adult craft
dates for January will be on the 5th and 26th.
Our Family Fun Night sessions will resume this month with a special event on Thursday, January
29th from 6:00-7:00 for the whole family. Our theme will be Polar Bears and PJs. Put on your comfy flannels and join us for a night of wintry fun!
The library will be closed on Wednesday, December 24th, Thursday, December 25th, Wednesday, December 31st, and Thursday, January 1st.
On behalf of the Powell County Public Library, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We hope you
have a wonderful holiday with family and friends.
Our winter hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00,
Saturday, 11:00-2:00,
and closed on Sunday.
