CLAY CITY, KY — The extremely warm air brought a wave of excitement to the gymnasium of Clay City Elementary School this week as a special traveling mini fall festival rolled into Clay City Elementary, bringing a morning filled with laughter, games, and pure seasonal joy for some of the school’s youngest learners.
The event was tailored specifically for the enthusiastic preschoolers in the classes of Mrs. Billings and Ms. Turbyfill. Designed to bring the magic of a community festival straight to the school grounds, the morning was an absolute hit, leaving the children with giant smiles and unforgettable memories.
A Community Effort
This magical morning was made possible through a wonderful collaborative partnership dedicated to supporting local youth. The event was brought to life by the joint efforts of:
- The Powell County Public Library
- Powell County PRI (Partners for Rural Impact)
- Clay City Elementary Family Resource Center (CCE FRC)
- Community Early Childhood Council (CECC)
Together, these organizations transformed the space into a vibrant, kid-friendly carnival ground packed with activities that kept the little ones giggling from start to finish.
Games, Giggles, and Goldfish
The preschoolers had the chance to test their skills at a wide variety of autumn-themed games perfectly sized for pint-sized competitors. The festival lineup included:
- Mini golf and candy corn bowling for the budding athletes.
- A thrilling spider catapult and a spooky spider ring toss.
- Creative challenges like the goldfish toss and the steady-handed eyeball spoon game.
- Classic festive fun with a preschool-safe version of apple bobbing and many more activities.
