
Ruth Evelyn Mullins Smith, 54, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. She was born September 26, 1971 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Eugene “Badger” Mullins and Mildred Martin Mullins. Survivors include, mother, Mildred Mullins; wife, Krissy Smith; daughter, Kaitlyn Bowles; son, Corey Bowles; bonus daughters, Kelsey (Daryl) Wilson, Karissa (Jon) Ginter, and Kaylyn (Josh) Jamison; brothers and sisters, Tammy Reed, Rhonda (Brittany) Martin, Brad Mullins (Sherry Hale), and Gena (Jerald) Howard; bonus grandchildren, Clayton Jamison, Milo Ginter, Oliver Ginter, Kennedy Wilson, and Kaiden Wilson; Ruru’s babies, and an abundance of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sylvia May Strange Atkinson, of Stanton, wife of the late Hybert Roger Atkinson passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family. She was born August 4, 1937 in Stanton, Kentucky to the late Ila May Hall Strange and Melvin Clay Strange. Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Powell County. She was devoted in her Christian faith and in love to her family. Sylvia is remember for her work of 33 years at General Telephone in Lexington, Kentucky. She also worked for a short time at Powell County High School in the cafeteria, and as an aide at Powell County Head Start. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Eastern Star. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Hybert, brothers, Russell Strange and Charles Strange, sister, Mary Lou Strange Walters, with whom we know she has already reunited with in heaven. Mrs Atkinson is survived by daughter Esther (Michael) Bloom; grandchildren, Trevor (Haley) Bloom, Gavin (Eda Endewardt) Bloom, and Abrianna (Wesley Woodruff) Bloom; great-grandchildren, Dean Bloom and Annie Bloom; brother, James (Patricia) Strange; sisters, Shirley (Austin) Carter and Sarah Strange Goosey; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family, and friends. Ron Hub passed away peacefully at his home in Winchester on Monday, December 29, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Rita Hub; his brothers, William and Steve Hub; and his grandchildren, Erik and Victoria Wissing. Eunice Geraldine Poe, 88, widow of Troy Poe, of Clay City passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Clark Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 22, 1937 in Morgan County to the late Henry and Gladys Haven Robinson. Eunice was an avid guitarist, song leader in church, and retiree from Curlys sewing factory with over 20 years of service. She also loved to sew, cook, and quilt in her spare time. Survivors include, sons, Rick (Loretta) Poe, Clay City, Tim (Sam Flippo) Poe, Clay City, Jeff (Missy Glover) Poe, Clay City, and Troy (Diana Faulconer) Poe, Lexington; sister, Vennie Coldiron; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Thomas “Tommy” Floyd Dunn, 87, of Stanton, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born December 17, 1938 in Slade, Kentucky to the late Roy and Gertrude Rogers Dunn. He was a retired maintenance worker and mechanic from Natural Bridge State Park, working for over 30 years. Tommy was a very active hiker and loved the outdoors. He also loved working on cars and building things. He loved his family very much and was very dedicated to them. He loved to socialize with friends and family and spent a lot of time at Porters store in Slade and later at Ledfords Bait Shop. Survivors include, son, Thomas Dunn, Daughter, Tonya Dunn; brother, Ralph Dunn, sisters, sisters, Sara McDaniel, Juanita Brewer, Orene Green, Wanda Brewer, Ruth Banks, Kathy Jones, and Vickey Watson; grandchildren, Allen McCoy and Amber Dunn. She was born June 17, 1956 in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late Junice and Beulah May Johnson Mayse. Michael Reed Turner, 72, of Stanton, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Saint Mary and Elizabeths Hospital, Louisville. He was born September 21, 1953 in Norfold, Virginia to the late John Ruel Turner and Alta Marie Grigsby Staton. He was a Dolbe High School graduate and got a degree in Electrical Engineering. Survivors include, sons, Lucas Turner and Seth (Heather) Turner; brother, John Turner; sister, Alisha Simons; granddaughter, Charlotte Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Pat Turner and Scott Turner.
